What do we see in John 1?
We see God became a man as Jesus and that John the Baptist told us about him
John 2

We see Jesus beginning His signs and telling them for the first time that he would die on a cross and rise again.
What does it say in John 2?
“ When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.”
John 3
Nicodemus, Must be born from above
what do we see in John 3?
We see Jesus telling Nicodemus that people must be born again by believing in Him and John the Baptizer saying the same to his disciples.
What does John 2 say?
“22 When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had
said this, and they believed the Scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.”
What does John 3 say?
“ 36Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
John 4

We see Jesus talking to a Samaritan woman and healing a nobleman’s son.
What does it say in John 4?
25 The woman said to him, ‘I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.’ 26 Jesus said to her, ‘I who speak to you am he.’”
John 5
Healing of Lame Man, Jesus of the Father
What do we see in John 5?
we see Jesus healing a man on the Sabbath and showing His authority.
What does it say in John 5?
“ 18 This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.”
John 6
- Feeding 5,000, Bread of Life, Jesus Walks on Water, Many followers leave
What do we see in John 6?
We see Jesus feeding the five thousand men and challenging the people about belief.
What does it say in John 6?
“ 35 Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe.’”
John 7
- Jesus goes to festival in secret, People are becoming divided over who Jesus is

We see the people are unsure about Jesus, but begin to think that He is the Christ.

John 8

what do we see in John 8
We see Jesus protecting sinners, challenging the religious people, and showing His true
authority.

Jesus the good Shepard

We see Jesus telling the people that He is the Good Shepherd.

John 11?
Raising of Lazarus
what do we see in John 11
We see Jesus showing compassion and raising Lazarus from the dead.
What does it say in John 11?
25 Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?
John 12
triumphal entry, Jesus’ hour has now come

We see Jesus being anointed by Mary and entering Jerusalem on a donkey – His hour of suffering has now come.

34 ‘A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.’”
John 13
Last supper and love
what do we see in John 13
We see Jesus telling them how to treat each other, telling them why He is going to die,
and telling them who would betray Him. This was their last meal together before Jesus
was crucified.
What does it say in John 13?
34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
John 14
Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life, Preparing the disciples for His leaving, but
the Spirit’s arrival

Jesus comforts the disciples about His coming death by telling them the Holy Spirit will
take care of them.

15 ’If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16And I will ask the Father, and he
will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.”
John 15
Leave the Last Supper and head to the garden, Jesus is the Vine and we are the branches

We see Jesus walking with His disciples to where He will be captured, telling them that
He is the Source of life and living and that the world will treat them badly because of
Him.

John 16
Jesus is leaving, the Spirit will help them

and interviewed by Pilate.

We see Jesus, the King of Glory, crucified on a cross of wood.

John 20
Resurrection, Thomas’ confession, purpose of John’s Gospel

We see Jesus rising from the dead and showing Himself to His disciples.

We see Jesus restoring Peter and a testimony about John.
