What is it?
Autoimmune disorder causing muscle weakness
Causes
Antibodies attack acetylcholine receptors
Acetylcholine levels normal
Too few receptors
Prevents muscle contraction from occurring
S/S
Muscle Weakness
Dysphagia (trouble swallowing)
Double Vision
Difficulty Walking
Fatigue
Sxworsen with activity and improve with rest
• TX?
• Thymectomy
• Avoid Stress/Rest when symptoms occur
• Acetylcholinesterase inhibitors
Fibromyalgia
