Nonmarital Childbearing
Childbearing that occurs outside of marriage, increasingly common among low-income women in their 20s.
Abstinence Education
Educational programs aimed at promoting abstinence from sexual activity as the primary method for preventing pregnancies and STIs.
LARC
Long-Acting Reversible Contraception, such as IUDs and implants, which have been linked to a decrease in unintended teen births.
Infertility
A medical condition defined by the inability to conceive after 12 months of unprotected intercourse or after 6 months for women over 35.

The percentage of women across different ethnicities who have sought infertility services: 15.8% for white women, 12.2% for Hispanic women, and 10.7% for black women.

A surgical procedure to deliver a baby through incisions in the abdomen and uterus, often considered more doctor-friendly.
Maternal Mortality
The death of a woman during pregnancy, childbirth, or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy.
Infant Mortality Rate
The number of infant deaths for every 1,000 live births, a significant measure of a country’s health system.

Chemicals that can interfere with hormone systems in the body, potentially affecting fertility.
