- By working with teammates- learn how to cooperate, communicate clearly and solve problems effectively under pressure

- Ex: basketball match- constantly communicate with each others, make quick decisions and adjust strategies when plans fail.

=> regularly practice- improves their ability to work in groups, express the ideas clearly, and stay calm in challenging situations -> valuable skills in both personal and professional life.

  1. build a stronger and more united society

- take part in organized sports- learn how to respect different opinions, take responsibilities and work toward a common goal.

- ex: if a teammate is frequently blamed for errors during games -> become anxious and avoid speaking up.

=> weaken players communication and problem- solving skills rather than improve them

  1. on broader scales

- Focusing too much on winning -> take attention away from learning soft skills.

- When winning - more important than working together -> start to show bad behaviors ( being selfish, too aggressive)

- Ex: in some school teams or local clubs, players are told to beat others instead of helping their teammates -> not the true goal of team sports

=> society where teamwork is not appreciated, and ppl find it hard to work well with others in group situations outside of sport.

  1. Advantages

  1. provide diverse career opportunities

- Most major companies are located in cities-> have better chances of finding a well-paying jobs/ rural areas.

- Ex: finding an IT job (hcm cities)-> find more options than in the countryside, where tech companies are limited.

  1. life in the city is generally more convenient.

- offer better access to essential services ( hospitals, schools, and entertainment venues)

- ex: HN, easy to find places to relax and have fun at night ( shopping malls, cinemas, theatres)- unavailable in rural areas.

=> Lead to a more dynamic and fulfilling lifestyle, with greater professional growth and easier to access to modern conditions that improve overall quality of life.

Advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad

  1. Advantages

  1. broaden student’s horizon

- get a broader world view since they will exposed to a completely new culture and lifestyle.

- Bc: each country has their own unique traditional and social norms -> overseas students must get out of their comfort zone to adapt to this new environment, which will turn them into open-minded people.

  1. enhance personal development by fostering independence and self-discipline

- move to foreign country -> faced with unfamiliar situations and must learn to solve problems on their own.

- This experience forces them rely on themselves, manage their time wisely, and remain committed to their personal goals.

- Ex: students studying overseas- organize their studies, handle daily expenses, and adapt to a new culture without close family support.

-> these challenges build essential life skills.

=> people who live abroad often become stronger and more confident, which helps them deal with challenges in life more easily.

2. Disadvantages

=> they could feel isolated and suffer from depression or stress.

  1. language barrier

- some overseas education programs do not require students to be fluent in a foreign language as long as they can pay tuition fees-> students are unable to overcome the language barrier, so they cannot understand the lecture or communicate with their classmates in the host country.

-> they will not gain anything from the time and money they spend studying abroad

=> without proper preparation, studying abroad can become a stressful and unproductive experience for many students

Effects of distance food travels/ food miles

  1. Disadvantages

  1. reduction in food product quality

- Long transportation times- causes perishable food like vegetables or fruits to lose their freshness.

- In order to avoid spoiling during transit-> harvested before they are completely ripe, which lower their flavors and nutrition values

=> customers may not receive food in its best condition and the meals prepare with such ingredients may be less enjoyable and less beneficial to health than expected

  1. increase cost

- shipping requires various resources: fuel, labor, packaging and refrigeration, all of which add to the total expenses.

- Bc of this, imported foods are often sold at higher prices compares to locally grown produce,

=> these extra costs are often passed on to customers, making everyday food items less affordable, especially for low-income families.

2. Advantages

  1. allow us to enjoy a wider variety of food.

- thanks to international trade- eat fruits/ special dishes from other countries that are not available locally

- Ex: during the winter months- living in colder climates- enjoy fresh bananas, mangoes, or avocados imported from warmer regions.

=> diversity- increases our food options & allows ppl to experience different cultures through cuisine

  1. they help support the global economy

- When countries import and export food -> jobs and income for millions of ppl around the world

- ex: when VM exports coffee, rice, or tropical fruits to countries in Europe or North America, farmers, transport workers, and exporters all earn money from that trade.

=> at the same time, ppl in importing countries enjoy these products, which helps local businesses like supermarkets and restaurants attract more customers.

Effects of social networking sites on individuals and society

Body Paragraph 1: Impact on Individuals

One of the most significant benefits of social networking sites for individuals is the ability to stay connected with others regardless of distance. These platforms enable users to stay in touch with family and friends, build new relationships, and engage with communities that share similar interests. This ease of interaction can offer emotional support and help strengthen social bonds. However, this constant virtual connectivity can also lead to unintended consequences. Many individuals begin to replace face-to-face interactions with virtual ones, which may gradually lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness. Over time, this can have a negative impact on mental health. For example, some young people become so used to chatting online that they feel uncomfortable or even anxious in real-life conversations. They may avoid social gatherings or struggle to build close relationships offline, which makes them feel even more disconnected from others

👉 Therefore, while social media enhances connectivity, it may also reduce the depth and quality of real-world relationships.

Body Paragraph 2: Impact on Society

At the societal level, social networking sites play a positive role in raising public awareness and encouraging civic participation. They offer a platform for users to share information, support social movements, and coordinate activities such as charity drives or environmental campaigns. These efforts contribute to a more informed and active community. Nevertheless, these sites can also be used in a bad way. Some people share false or unfair information. This can confuse others, hurt people’s reputations, and cause problems in society. Therefore, although social networking sites offer opportunities for positive change, they can also contribute to serious societal problems when mismanaged

Reasons and solutions to change bad habit eating

  1. Reasons

  1. the fast-paced modern lifestyle, which leaves individuals with little time or energy to prepare balanced, home-cooked meals.

- have busy schedules filled with work, school, or personal responsibilities -> choose food based on convenience rather than nutrition

=> They tend to rely on fast food, frozen meals, or packaged snacks that are quick to prepare but high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats. Over time, this can damage their health without them realizing it.

  1. A lack of nutritional awareness,

- Young ppl, are not properly educated- healthy eating.

- May not know how to read food labels, plan balanced meals, or understand the long-term effects of poor nutrition,

- Unhealthy food is often advertised more attractively, which makes it harder for ppl to choose healthier options

=> Because of this, unhealthy choices can become daily habits, and if continued for years, they may lead to serious health problems ( obesity, diabetes, or heart disease)

        2. Solution

  1. individual level

- Make simple changes to their daily routines

-Ex: planning meals in advance can help them avoid hasty decisions like ordering fast food

- learning basic cooking skills also allows individuals to prepare healthier meals at home using fresh ingredients.

=> By making these small adjustments, ppl can gain more control over what they eat and gradually move toward a more balanced diet,

  1. on a broader scales

- Governments and schools: an important role

- Authorities can introduce nutrition education programs - teach ppl about healthy food choices from an early age.-> This helps children build good eating habits that can last into adulthood.

- Schools and workplaces should offer healthier options in canteens instead of sugary snacks or fried foods ( fresh fruits, vegetables, or balanced meals)

=> When healthy food is both easier to understand and more available, ppl are more likely to make better choices and improve their overall well-being
