Titration
A technique used to determine the concentration of a solution by reacting it with a solution of known concentration.
NaOH
Sodium hydroxide, the concentration of which is determined through titration in this lab.
HCl
Hydrochloric acid, used as the titrant with a known concentration of 0.10 mol/L.
Buret
A piece of volumetric glassware used to accurately dispense a known volume of liquid, essential for titrations.
Erlenmeyer flask
A conical flask used to hold the solution being titrated.
Phenolphthalein
An acid-base indicator used to detect the endpoint of the titration (colorless).
Endpoint
The point in a titration where the indicator changes color, signaling the completion of the reaction.
Titration calculation
Calculating the concentration of NaOH using the volume of HCl used during titration.
Volumetric Material
Tools like burets, pipettes, and volumetric flasks used for precise volume measurements.
Molarity (mol/L)
A unit of concentration expressing the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.
