What is DNA?
Deoxyribonucleic acid, a molecule that carries the genetic instructions for all known living organisms and many viruses.
What is the structure of DNA?
A double helix, resembling a twisted ladder. The sides of the ladder are made of sugar and phosphate molecules, and the rungs are made of nitrogenous bases.
What are the four nitrogenous bases in DNA and how do they pair?
Adenine (A), Guanine (G), Cytosine (C), and Thymine (T). A pairs with T, and C pairs with G.
What is DNA replication?
The process of duplicating a DNA molecule. It is essential for cell division and involves enzymes like DNA polymerase.
