Progress of History
The idea that history progresses through stages like feudalism to capitalism to socialism to communism.

Intervallic Periods
Periods when nothing seems to be happening, punctuated by evental sequences.
Evental Sequences
Periods of turmoil and upheaval that disrupt intervallic periods.
Riots (Badiou's View)
Flickers of hope and guardians of dormant revolution during seemingly inactive times.
Immediate Riot
Unrest among those abandoned by the state, often triggered by state violence.
Historical Riot
A riot that involves peaceful demands for significant change and challenges the state.
Black Lives Matter
Faithful to Revolutionary Ideas
Remaining committed to revolutionary ideas, often expressed through powerful slogans.
Reactive Subjects
Subjects who believe 'The Event was a disaster'.
Obscure Subjects
Subjects who believe 'Nothing happened'.
Inexistent
The idea that masses of people are not recognized or considered by the state.
The Faithful Subject
Guardian and militant of the idea.
Declaration
Declares something that will be made true.
Breaking of History
Marks a division in history between the old and new worlds.
· Before = old world (Jews/Greeks/Romans)
· Now = new world (Christian)
The 'New Man'
A new subject is born again.

Militant of Truth
St Paul = militant of truth: “He is risen.”
