Usul-al-Din means the foundation of the faith of Shi’a Islam

The Five Roots are:

Tawhid:

Belief in the oneness of God

Surah 112 ‘none is like Him’

Creator of all

Prophethood:

Allah sent messages to guide people on the right path

The right path is living a peaceful life submitted to God

Imams protect messages so people don’t forget

Resurrection:

Day of Judgement(Yawm al-Qiyyamah)

Everyone will be judged by Allah

Asked to account words and actions

Events of this day described in Qur’an and Hadith

Imamate:

Leadership

Twelve imams from his tribe would succeed him

First eleven led community but twelfth disappeared after his dad’s death

He is alive and hiding until the day of judgement

Justice:

Good+evil in everything but Allah commands you to do good

Surah 16:90 ‘Indeed Allah commands you towards Justice’

Sometimes justice can be hard to see

Allah also knows your future but can’t change it
