1. What to teach the saved child

A. Read the scripture portion for each Bible lesson to discover the overall meaning

B. Decide on one important truth from the meaning that can be applied to the same child's life

C. Write the truth of the aim in one child-related sentence called the main thrust statement

The main thrust statement is one important teaching for the Christian child stated in one simple sentence

• The MTS should be brief enough for the child to remember easily

• The MTS should be as personal as possible using you or I NOT we

2. Teach the main thrust statement

A. Include your main thresh statement at least three times in your Bible lesson and as often as possible throughout the class time

B. When giving the MTS related to the Christian child

(If you know Jesus as your savior….)

• First time: identify the Christian child and just give the MTS

• Second time: identify the Christian child, State the MTS, and apply it to the child's life using scripture and appropriate examples

  • Use the personal word you

  • Use real examples of the child can understand and identify with

  • Use verses to support the teaching of the MTS

• Third time: identify the Christian child, state the NTS, and challenge the child to live the truth

  • Repeat the scripture verse and examples you used in the MTS

  • Challenge the Christian child to obey God's word. Use a personal rhetorical question involving the teaching of the main thrust statement

  • Suggest a specific way for the child to apply the truth he has learned

3. Effective change in the child's life

A. Pray for yourself, the children and the lesson as you prepare

B. Remember, it is the spirit of God working through the word of God who will bring lasting change to the life of a child

A. Ask God to reveal the need of each child

B. Be an example of each lesson

C. Consistently give an invitation

D. Determine with God's help how to help save children

E. Expect the Holy Spirit to work
