Chloroplast

Absorb sunlight for the plant to execute photosynthesis

Nucleus

Controls all cell activities and stores the cell’s DNA

Cell Wall

Provides structure and strength to the cell

Cell Membrane

Controls what goes in and out of the cell

Vacuole

Stores cell sap and other substances which helps keep the cell firm and supports the plant. It also acts as the main cell storage system.

Mitochondria

Releases energy for the cell through aerobic respiration

Cytoplasm

Serves as the site of many chemical reactions that happen inside the cell

Unicellular Organism

A living thing made of one cell that can perform all essential life functions within that cell

Endoskeleton - humans, dogs, sharks

Internal skeleton

Exoskeleton

External skeleton - crabs, grasshoppers, spiders

Hydrostatic skeleton - jellyfish, worms, octopi

Support system in soft-bodied animals that uses a fluid-filled cavity surrounded by muscles
