introduction
Notwithstanding the numerous human efforts to combat climate change, it has shown exponential growth in recent decades. Forasmuch as these efforts have been largely inadequate, this is our last chance to take collective action before it is too late.
Argument 1
The immediate and severe impacts on human health and safety
Drought: leads to water scarcity, agricultural losses, and ecosystem collapse.
Flooding: Causes the spread of disease, death, and damage to ecosystems and infrastructure.
Heatwaves: Due to trapped heat from greenhouse gases, heatwaves occur. Heat is one of the deadliest weather conditions, reducing worker productivity and straining energy systems. (According to the Nasa earth observatory, the average temperature on earth has increased by 1.1 degrees Celsius since 1880.)
Argument 2
Economic Consequences
Rising Temperatures: Increased temperatures reduce worker productivity and strain energy systems.
Sea Level Rise: Coastal areas become uninhabitable, displacing millions and causing economic losses.
(According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Global average sea level has risen 8-9 inches since 1880.)
Natural Disasters: Increased frequency and severity of natural disasters lead to significant economic costs
Argument 3:
Disproportionate impact on vulnerable populations
Outdoor workers: More exposed to high temperatures
Elderly: More susceptible to health issues related to extreme weather
Low-income groups: Lack acces to healthcare and resources to relocate when their homes become uninhabitable.
Conclusion!!
Summarize the arguments.
Emphasize the urgency of taking action now.
· "Taking action against climate change requires minimal effort when considering the substantial benefits it will bring."
These actions not only enhance individual lives but also ensure a prosperous and equitable future for all."
