Human Rights
The basic liberties and rights that all individuals are entitled to, regardless of race, gender, nationality, or other characteristics.
Civil Rights
The personal rights guaranteed by the Constitution, including the right to equal treatment under the law.
Political Rights
The rights of individuals to participate in the political process, including the right to vote and run for office.
Economic Rights
Rights that allow individuals to pursue economic opportunities and have access to basic needs, such as employment and housing.
Cultural Rights
Rights that protect the ability of individuals to maintain and develop their cultural identity.
Limitations of Human Rights
Conditions under which certain rights may be restricted, usually for reasons of public safety, order, or health.
Drug Abuse
The harmful or hazardous use of psychoactive substances, often leading to health issues and social problems.
NDLEA
National Drug Law Enforcement Agency; the agency responsible for combating drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria.
NAFDAC
National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control; responsible for regulating food and drug safety in Nigeria.
Emergency Rule
A state of governance in which certain constitutional rights are suspended, typically in response to a crisis.
Inalienability
A characteristic of human rights indicating that they are inherent and cannot be surrendered or transferred.
Indivisibility
The principle stating that all human rights are interconnected and equally important.
Interdependence
The concept that the enjoyment of one right often depends on the recognition and respect for the rights of others.
Relativity
The idea that the interpretation and application of human rights may vary based on cultural and historical contexts.
Civil Liberties
Fundamental individual rights protected from government interference.
Public Order
The state of peace and safety in a community; used to justify limitations on certain rights.
Rehabilitation
The process of helping individuals recover from drug or substance abuse.
Awareness Campaigns
Efforts aimed at educating the public about the dangers of drug abuse and prevention methods.
Substance Abuse
The harmful or hazardous use of any psychoactive substance, including alcohol and illicit drugs.
Peer Pressure
Influence from members of one's peer group, which can lead individuals to engage in drug use.
