Deontological
A normative ethical theory that judges the morality of an action based on whether the action itself adheres to a rule or duty, rather than on the consequences of the action. It emphasizes duties, rules, and intentions, such as those put forth by Immanuel Kant, over the outcomes.

Consequences are the only thing that matters. A normative ethical theory that posits the best moral action is the one that maximizes utility, typically defined as maximizing overall happiness or well-being for the greatest number of people, a synonym for consequentialism.
