Got their names because of their location between the New England loonies and the southern colonies. The Middle Colonies were Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and Delaware.

Because of the rich soil and good climate ( long growing season and enough rain) for farming. They also had large harbors and many rivers which made trade with Luther colonies easy.

Proprietor of Delaware and Pennsylvania. He wrote a document called the Frame of Government of Pennsylvania. It gave citizens freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the right to a fair trial by jury.
