s/s: (9)
CONVERTS anxiety into physical disorder:
paralysis

What is Factitious Disorder Imposed on Another (aka Munchausen by Proxy)?

often given pain meds, anxiolytics (benzos), and sleep meds leading up to dependence and rebound anxiety
What are Psychosocial Interventions for somatic pts? (6)
avoid “doctor shopping” (mainly hypochondriasis)
ask details abt symptoms (OLDCARTS)
assess safety/security needs
rule out medical cause
identify secondary gains
limit unnecessary medical tests
What is somatization?
