Appendicular Skeleton
Consists of 126 bones that form the limbs and the bones that support the limbs.
Pectoral Girdle
The bones that support the upper extremity; includes the scapula and clavicle.
Pelvic Girdle
Supports the lower limb; also known as os coxae or coxal bones.
Humerus
The bone of the arm (brachium).
Radius
The bone of the forearm (antebrachium) located on the thumb side.
Ulna
The bone of the forearm (antebrachium) located on the side of the little finger.
Carpals
The group of bones in the wrist.
Metacarpal Bones
The bones of the palm.
Phalanges (Upper Extremity)
The bones of the fingers.
Femur
The bone of the thigh, often referred to as the largest bone in the body.
Patella
Also known as the kneecap, which is associated with the femur.
Tibia
The large bone in the leg, commonly referred to as the shin bone.
Fibula
The smaller, lateral bone of the leg.
Tarsals
The group of bones in the ankle, including the calcaneus (heel bone).
Metatarsal Bones
The bones of the foot.
Phalanges (Lower Extremity)
The bones of the toes.
