Cuneiform

System of writing relating to the wedge shaped characters used in the ancient writing systems of Mesopotamia, mainly impressed on clay tablet.

Scribe

A person who writes or copies out documents, especially one employed to do this before printing was invented.

Silt

Fine sand, clay, or other material carried by running water deposited as a sediment.
