Etenim quid aliud hoc iudicio temptatur

Accusant ei, quibus occidi patrem Sex. Rosci bono fuit

The men prosecuting are those for whose benefit the father of Sextus Roscius was killed

Causam dicit is, cui non modo luctem mors patris attulit, verum etiam egestatem

The man pleading his case is he, for whom the death of his father brought not only grief, but also poverty

Accusant ei qui hunc ipsum iugulare summe cupierunt

The men prosecuting are those who desired very greatly to slaughter this very man

Causam dicit is, qui etiam adhoc ipsum iudicium cum praesidio venit

The man pleading his case is he who even came to this very trial with protection

Ne hic ibidem ante oculos vestros trucidetur
