ACL Assessment Tests

Lachman’s, and anterior drawer

• Increased anterior tibial translation, soft or no end feel

PCL Assessment Test

Posterior drawer and Godfreys

• Posterior drawer - Increased posterior tibial translation, soft or no end feel

• Godfreys - Unilateral posterior sag or displaced tibial tuberosity

MCL Assessment Test

Valgus, Apley’s distraction

• Apley’s distraction - Pain with distraction

• Valgus - Increased laxity, soft or no end feel

LCL Assessment Test

Varus, Apleys Distraction

• Varus - Increased laxity, soft or no end feel

• Apley’s distraction - Pain with distraction

Meniscus Tear Test

Apleys compression

• Pain with compression and reduced or no pain with distraction (meniscus). Pain with distraction indicates a collateral ligament sprain

Patellar Dislocation Test

Patella Apprehension

• Apprehension or pain

Patella Femoral Stress Syndrome Test

Clarks sign

• Patellofemoral pain or unable to hold a contraction
