a state of indifference or a lack of feeling about something
How might apathy show up?
feeling emotionally numb, lacking passion, or feeling disconnected from once-important things
What would be an apathetic response to bullying?
ignoring the bullying (being a bystander), showing no concern, and feeling it is not worth reacting to
How does the Second Vatican Council define conscience?
- a judgment of reason (not a feeling) involving the whole person that is rooted in human dignity and reflects God's voice
- helps us recognise the moral quality of our actions
What does it mean when we say 'conscience speaks to the heart'?
- the moral compass that guides us through our emotions, influencing our decisions
- the inner voice that tells us what is right and wrong and resonates with our deepest values and desires
Why is obeying your conscience considered part of human dignity?
it respects human freedom, calls us to take responsibility for our choices, and affirms each person's worth by choosing what is right in response to God's voice

What is an example of a moral truth, how?

- to understand the impact it may have on others and help choose the most ethical path
- to respect others' dignity and show care
- to form your conscience, as the more you learn, the better your inner compass can guide you
