carries deoxygenated blood to lungs

blood becomes oxygenated here

9. Pulmonary veins

carry oxygenated blood back to heart

10. Left atrium

receives oxygenated blood from lungs

11. Mitral (bicuspid) valve

valve between left atrium and left ventricle

12. Left ventricle

pumps oxygenated blood to the body

13. Aortic semilunar valve

valve between left ventricle and aorta

14. Aorta

carries oxygenated blood to the entire body
