Mathematical Expression
A combination of one or more values arranged in terms that are added together.
Variable Term
The product of a real number (coefficient) and one or more variables, each potentially raised to an exponent.
Constant/Constant Term
Numbers without a variable in an expression.
Single Variable Linear Expression
The sum of a single variable term, where the variable has no exponent, and a constant (which may be zero).
Linear Expression
The sum of any number of variable terms so long as none of the variables have an exponent and none of the terms have two variables multiplied together.
m = (y2-y1) / (x2-x1)
What is the formula for finding the slope (m) between two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) on a graph?
Upward direction from left to right
What does a positive slope indicate about the direction of a line on a graph?
Downward direction from left to right
What does a negative slope indicate about the direction of a line on a graph?
