Source/Record Editing
The primary workspace when editing in Media Composer.
Composer Window
The workspace in which you view your video or audio track.
Project Window
The area where you manage your bins and projects.
Timeline Control Window
The panel that allows navigation and control of the sequence timeline.
Track Panel
The section of the interface that shows available tracks for audio and video.
Record Monitor
Displays the sequence as it is being played back for editing.
Source Monitor
Shows the clip being edited or analyzed before inserting it into a sequence.
Timeline Indicator
Shows the current playback position within the timeline.
Bin
A storage container in Media Composer for organizing media files and sequences.
Clip Playback Selectors
Buttons in the Source Monitor that control playback of clips.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Key combinations that perform specific editing tasks without using the mouse.
Undo Command
The command used to revert the last action performed in the editing timeline.
Redo Command
The command used to reinstate the last action that was undone.
Position Indicator
Displays the specific timecode position being viewed in the clip.
Smart Tools Panel
A collection of tools used for advanced editing features and functionalities.
Timeline Bar Scale
A graphical representation of time on the timeline, used for accuracy in edits.
Command Palette
A menu that contains various commands and operations that can be executed.
New Bin Shortcut
Command-N (Mac) or Ctrl-N (Windows) creates a new bin for organizing clips.
