Workplace Violence
Any violent actions that threaten employees, customers, vendors, or volunteers.
Prohibited Actions
Engaging in physical violence, threats of bodily harm, intimidation, or bringing deadly weapons to work.
Dangerous or Deadly Weapon
Includes firearms, metal knuckles, nunchaku, blackjack, and knives longer than three and one-half inches.
Employee Responsibility
Employees must remain alert to potential violence and report any acts or threats immediately.
Authorized Exceptions
Peace officers or government employees required to carry firearms are exempt from this rule.
Immediate Action Reporting
If immediate action is needed, supervisors may contact law enforcement personnel.
Training for Employees
Periodic training provided by the Bureau of Human Resources on identifying and handling workplace violence.
Reporting Channels
