Naive, Parody like character resembling Chaucer. Chaucer puts his feelings into this character and plays it off as the pilgrim bc some of the things are controversial.

Rusty armor, Wise, Son is a squire, He is a positive character but is actually more harm than good. Pretty much the classic traits of a knight.
The Nun
Overweight, knows a lot about love which wasn’t what a Nun should know, she brings hounds on the trip, love conquers all on her broach
The Monk
Big squirrel coat, grey hound gods, gambling (unlike his profession), and has a courtly pin.
The Friar
Ladies nan, talks smooth, listens to women’s confessions, goes tavern to tavern, and also has a lisp.
The Wife of Bath
Red stockings, partially deaf, married 5 times, scandalous, Venus marked
The Student
Walks on Foot, saves money for school/books instead of the trip, and wears modest clothes.
The Miller
Red beard, bagpipes, drinking in a tavern, and lugs the doors off hinges. His character is a play on the Scottish.
The Reeve
Estate Manager, Slender, he is the last rider, Scammer, wears a blue coat and has a lot of money
The Summoner
Ugly, pimples, no ointment could save his face, bad breath, no one wants to be near
The Pardoner
Yellow waxy hair, high pitched voice, thin, Homosexual, sells fake relics.
The Parson
Humble man, the Plowman is his brother, he is a positive character, walks on foot and is a religious example in the text.
