Preamble
An introduction outlining the purpose and goals of the Student Government Association at Xavier University.
Membership
Every enrolled student who pays the student activity fee shall be a member of the Student Government Association.
Legislative Branch
The branch of the SGA responsible for making recommendations, appropriating funds, and legislating on student affairs.
Judicial Branch
The branch composed of the Supreme Court and Election Commission, overseeing judicial matters within the SGA.
Executive Branch
The branch of SGA led by the President, responsible for administration and implementation of governance.
Cumulative GPA
A measure of a student's academic performance, specifically, the SGA requires a minimum of 2.75 for office eligibility.
Quorum
The minimum number of members required to be present for the Student Senate to conduct business, set at 60%.
Impeachment
The process by which SGA officers can be charged and removed from their position if certain criteria are met.
Elections Code
The set of regulations established for conducting elections within the Student Government Association.
Auxiliaries
Autonomous organizations under the SGA that operate under its Constitution and Bylaws, such as Xavier Activities Board.
Oath of Office
A formal promise made by elected officials to uphold the Constitution and fulfill their duties to the best of their ability.
Class Councils
Councils that represent undergraduate classes and are responsible for building traditions and community spirit.
