St Francis of Assisi

Wanted to live a life of total property in radical devotion to the gospel. Franciscan order cared for the sick and preached peace to others.

St. Dominic

Began his order to teach against the Albigensation heresy. Dominicans became important teachers.

St. Thomas More 

Humanist and lawyer in England. Wrote about and ideal world run by reason.

Erasmus

Known for Humanism; Important figure who criticized church corruption and translated the Bible.

St. Catherine of Siena

Had visions of Jesus at a young age and at 7 she gave herself to Jesus. Became a third order dominican at the age of 16. Youngest out of 25. People saw her as a spiritual mother. Died at 33 years old.
