Culture

the enduring behaviors, ideas, attitudes, values, and traditions shared by a group of people and transmitted from one generation to the next

identity

Ethnicity

the fact or state of belonging to a social group that has a common national or cultural tradition.

Social Justice

the communal effort dedicated to creating and sustaining a fair and equal society in which each person and all groups are valued and affirmed.

Safe Space

refers to an environment in which everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves and participating fully, without fear of attack, ridicule, or denial of experience.

Gender

in psychology, the biologically and socially influenced characteristics by which people define male and female

Race

a social construct used to group people; constructed as a hierarchical human-grouping system, generating racial classifications to identify, distinguish and marginalize some groups

Social Class

a group of people with similar backgrounds, incomes, and ways of living

Marginalized group

social identity group that are disenfranchised & exploited

Privileged group

social identity groups that hold unearned privilege in society
