Amniocentesis
A procedure used to sample amniotic fluid to obtain living fetal cells for prenatal diagnosis.
MSAFP
Maternal serum alpha-fetoprotein; a blood test that can indicate increased risk of chromosomal abnormalities.
Chorionic Villus Sampling (CVS)
A first-trimester procedure that uses trophoblastic tissue for genetic diagnosis.
Polyhydramnios
An excess of amniotic fluid in the amniotic sac, which may lead to complications.
Fetal Bradycardia
Slowed fetal heart rate, often associated with umbilical artery spasm.
Fetal Transfusion
