* Oil spills have caused water pollution and soil degradation, damaging agriculture and fishing industries.
* Frequent oil flares release toxic gases like methane and sulfur dioxide into the air. They harm the environment and increase global warming while also affecting people with asthma and other respiratory diseases causing hospitalization to be raised by 0.73% when oil flares were increased by 1%
