Bias
An inclination or prejudice for or against one person or group, often in a way considered to be unfair.
Genocide
The deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, ethnic, or religious group.
Acts of Violence
Actions that cause harm or threaten harm, including murder, rape, assault, vandalism, and terrorism.
Implicit Bias
Unconscious attitudes or beliefs that inadvertently influence our actions and understandings of others.
Explicit Bias
Attitudes or beliefs that we are consciously aware of and that influence our decisions.
Human Dignity
The inherent worth of every individual as a unique child of God, deserving of respect.
Racial Profiling
The practice of using race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting someone of committing an offense.
Anti-Locution
The first stage of prejudice, which involves speaking against or expressing negative views about a group.
Institutional Racism
The systemic distribution of resources, power, and opportunities in ways that benefit certain racial groups over others.
Isms
A term referring to various forms of discrimination, such as sexism, racism, ageism, and anti-Semitism.
Pyramid of Hate
A conceptual model that describes the harmful progression of hate, starting from acts of prejudice and escalating to genocide.
Eugenics
The study of or belief in the possibility of improving the human population by controlled breeding.
Extermination
The final stage of prejudice, which involves killing individuals or entire groups.
Metanoia
The transformation or conversion of the heart, particularly in a moral or spiritual sense.
Sexism
Discrimination based on a person's gender, typically targeting women and assuming their inferiority.
Ageism
Prejudice or discrimination against individuals based on their age, often targeting the elderly.
Anti-Semitism
Prejudice or hostility against Jewish people, manifesting in various forms of discrimination and violence.
Structural Discrimination
Embedded patterns of discrimination in social structures that disadvantage certain groups, such as denying women the right to vote.
Acts of Prejudice/Bigotry
Expressions of intolerance and discrimination against individuals or groups based on perceived differences.
