Inhibitory neurotransmitter that controls posture and movement; associated with Parkinson’s Disease & Schizophrenia.

Gama-Aminobutyric Acid (GABA)

Inhibits central nervous system and regulates anxiety; associated with anxiety disorders and Huntington’s Disease.

Glutamate (Glu)

Major excitatory neurons in central nervous system; important for learning and memory; associated with memory loss and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Norepinephrine

Important for psychological arousal, mood changes, sleep, and learning; associated with Bipolar Mood Disorder.

Serotonin (5-HT)

Regulates sleep, mood, appetite, and pain; associated with depression.

Endorphins

Pain control; involved in addictions.
