Types of OOH
Bulletin Structures- Large, outdoor ads meant for long-term use
Poster Panels- An outdoor billboard in which advertising is displayed on printed paper sheets rather than being painted. Most common
Junior Posters- A type of outdoor advertising offering a 5-foot by 11-foot printing area on a panel surface 6 feet tall by 12 feet wide.
Spectaculars- giant electronic signs that incorporate movement, color, and flashy graphics to grab attention in high-traffic areas
Digital Billboards- Most time, sensitive and flexible form of outdoor advertising

The basic unit of sale for billboards or posters is 100 grading points daily one rating point equals one percent of a particular market’s population.
Types of transit advertising
Transit Advertising- a category of out-of-home media that includes bus and taxicab advertising as well as posters on transit shelters, terminals, and subways.
Transit Shelters- A newer form of out-of-home media, where advertisers can buy space on bus shelters and on the backs of bus-stop seats.
Terminal Posters- One-sheet, two-sheet, and three-sheet posters in many bus, subway, and commuter train stations as well as in major train and airline terminals. They are usually custom-designed and include such attention-getters as floor displays, island showcases, illuminated signs, dioramas (three-dimensional scenes), and clocks with special lighting and moving messages.
Inside Card- A transit advertisement, normally 11 by 28 inches, placed in a wall rack above the windows of a bus.
Car end Posters- transit ads of varying sizes, positioned in the bulkhead
Outside Posters- The variety of transit advertisements appearing on the outside of buses, including king size, queen size, traveling display, rear of bus, and front of the bus.
Taxicab Exteriors- In transit advertising, internally illuminated, two-sided posters positioned on the roofs of taxis. Some advertising also appears on the doors or rear.
Buying Transit Advertising
Showing/Run/Service- a traditional term referring to the relative number of outdoor posters
used during a contract period, indicating the intensity of market coverage
Full Showing- one card will appear in each vehicle system
Basic Bus- inside space in the groups of buses
Take Ones- In transit advertising, pads of business reply cards or coupons, affixed to interior
advertisements for an extra charge, that allow passengers to request more detailed information,
send in application blanks, or receive some other product benefit.
Bus O Rama Sign- Jumbo full-color transparencies backlighted by fluorescent tubes and running.
Total Bus- all the exterior space
Brand Train- include all subway cars in a particular corridor
