• More people stayed and some left

• The priest - most educated, kept Polish people Polish - slower assimilation, financial management

• Polish national catholic church - priests discriminated against + bishops nominated priest instead of Polish people

• As a result - Pro union during progressive era

Soviets committed Kitan massacre blamed Germans, Germans found bodies, blamed Soviets

Taran Conference December 1943

FDR + Churchhill agreed to give Polish land to Soviets, FDR asked not to mention until after the election - so he can get the Polish vote
