Brachiocephalicus
Muscle with origin at clavicular intersection and humerus, insertion at mastoid process, functions as a forelimb protractor and innervated by cervical, accessory and axillary nerves.
Rhomboid
Muscle originating from tendinous raphe of neck and supraspinous ligament, inserting at scapula cartilage, functions as forelimb protractor, retractor, and elevator, innervated by ventral branches of cervical and thoracic nerves.
Latissimus Dorsi
Muscle originating from supraspinous ligament and thoracolumbar fascia, inserting at teres major tuberosity, functions as forelimb retractor and shoulder flexor, innervated by thoracodorsal nerve.
Superficial Pectoral
Muscle with origin at manubrium and cranial sternum, insertion at greater tubercle of humerus, functions as forelimb adductor, depressor, and protractor, innervated by cranial pectoral nerve.
Deep Pectoral
Muscle originating from sternum, inserting at greater and lesser tubercles of humerus, functions as forelimb adductor and retractor, innervated by caudal pectoral nerve.
Trapezius
Muscle with origin at nuchal ligament and insertion at scapula spine, functions as forelimb abductor, protractor, and elevator, innervated by accessory nerve.
Omotransversarius
Muscle originating from shoulder fascia and inserting at transverse process of C2-C4, functions as a forelimb protractor, innervated by the 4th cervical nerve.
Serratus Ventralis
Muscle originating from transverse processes of C2-C7 and ribs 1-7, inserting at medial scapula, functions as forelimb retractor and protractor, innervated by cervical and long thoracic nerves.
Teres Major
Muscle with origin at caudal border of scapula, insertion at teres major tuberosity, functions as shoulder flexor, innervated by the auxiliary nerve.
Biceps Brachii
Muscle originating from supraglenoid tubercle of scapula, inserting at radial tuberosity, functions as shoulder extensor and elbow flexor, innervated by musculocutaneous nerve.
Common Digital Extensor
Muscle originating from radius, ulna, and lateral epicondyle of humerus, inserting at proximal phalanx, functions as elbow flexor, carpal and digital extensor, innervated by radial nerve.
Extensor Carpi Radialis
Muscle with origin at lateral epicondyle of humerus, inserting at proximal metacarpals, functions as carpal extensor, innervated by radial nerve.
