Trap check frequency

Depends on species, kind of trap, and weather conditions. Have to be checked at least once every 24 hours (ideally every 12 hours)

Non-target species

Something else might get caught in the trap. Try to minimize capture of non-target species

Prebaiting

Have bait piles. Once they start eating bait more frequently, then put out traps. Non-target species can become accustomed to your bait and cause various problems

Baits

Might have to try multiple things. Some things only want live prey
