Sexuality
Refers to people’s sexual characteristics and their sexual behaviour.
Homosexuality
Involves having a sexual orientation towards people of the same sex.

A concept by Laura Mulvey describing how films are often made from a male perspective, objectifying women.
Stigmatized Identity
An identity that does not fit hegemonic gender identities, often perceived as deviant.
Goffman’s Stigma Types
Discrediting stigma is based on observable impairments, while discreditable stigma involves non-visible impairments.
Impression Management
The manipulation of one's image to convey particular messages to an audience.
Passing
The act of hiding a discreditable attribute to avoid stigma.
Withdrawal
The act of avoiding social contacts to prevent stigma.
Covering
Engaging in normal activities to minimize the impact of stigma.
Homophobia & Transphobia
Irrational hatred, intolerance, and fear of LGBT individuals.
