Maxillary Central Incisor
Shaped like a shovel.
Incisal edge
Almost straight but slightly oblique to the long axis of the crown.
Palatal Surface of Maxillary Central Incisor
Resembles a triangle, concave-convex.
Mesial Surface of Maxillary Central Incisor
Resembles a triangle with a concave base.
Distal Surface of Maxillary Central Incisor
Shorter and narrower than the mesial surface.
Maxillary Lateral Incisor
Similar in shape to the maxillary central incisor, but smaller in the mesio-distal direction; has a more slender crown.
Palatal Surface of Maxillary Lateral Incisor
Concavo-convex, triangular, smaller and narrower.
Maxillary Lateral Incisor
Smaller crown, mesially rounded angle, distal contact close to the central 1/3, root often tapered distally, incisal edge runs in the distal part obliquely to the long axis of the crown.
Maxillary Central Incisor
Larger crown, mesially almost a right angle with the incisal edge, distal contact closer to the incisal edge, lower probability of root deviation to the distal side, incisal edge almost horizontal.
Mandibular Incisors
Smallest teeth in the oral cavity; wedge-shaped or may have a regular shape; smaller, more flattened, narrower, more slender than the maxillary incisors.
Lingual Surface of Mandibular Central Incisor
Resembles a triangle, slightly smaller than the labial surface; slightly concave in 2/3 from the incisal edge, in 1/3 convex at the cervix, tooth cusp, poorly visible marginal ridges.
Mesial Surface of Mandibular Central Incisor
Similar to a triangle with a concave base; straight line in 2/3 from the incisal edge, convex in 1/3 from the neck, greatest curvature in 1/6 from the neck.
Distal Surface of Mandibular Central Incisor
Almost identical to the mesial surface - narrower, shorter.
Mandibular Lateral Incisor
Greatest similarity of proportions, 0.5 mm larger in each dimension.
Maxillary Canine
Larger, more massive than the mandibular canine.
Disto-labial Line
Shorter, more convex than mesio-labially, contact point - 1/3 from the incisal edge.
Mandibular Canine
Slimmer, narrower, longer crown, contact surfaces and ridges on the lingual surface - less convex.
