work under physicians or physical therapists, use massage, bodywork or therapeutic touch to provide pain relief for chronic conditions, some are entrepreneurs
Respiratory Therapist (RT)
administer respiratory treatments, perform basic diagnostic tests, clean & maintain equipment & inform of progress
Certified Athletic Trainers (ATC)
works w physician of sports medicine to prevent & treat athletic injuries & provide rehabilitative services. They assess physical condition, give advice to strengthen and flexibility, put tape/padding to protect body, treat injuries
Electrocardiograph Technician (ECG)
operate electrocardiograph machine which records electrical impules that originate in the heart
electroneurodiagnostic technologist (END)
perform nerve conduction tests, measure sensory and physical responses to specific stimuli, perform evoked potential (EP) tests that measure brain response when specific nerves are stimulated.
Electroencephalographic Technologist (EEG)
operates electroencephalogram to diagnose brain diseases and disorders
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technicians (CBETs)
Work with many different machines that are used to diagnose, treat & monitor patients. They install, test, service & repair equipment. "Handy-men of the facility"
Occupational Therapist (OT)
a therapist who helps residents to learn to compensate for their disabilities and assist them with activities of daily living
clinical laboratory scientist (CLS)
take care of the small tech, not much knowledge needed
Nurse Midwife (CNM)
A RN who received specialized training in the management of labor and birth
Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM)
examines, diagnoses, and treats diseases/disorders of the feet or of the leg below the knee
Physical Therapist (PT)
provides treatment to prevent disability or restore function through the use of exercise, heat, massage, or other techniques
Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
A registered nurse who receives additional education and clinical training in the diagnosis and treatment of illness. They order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose, and treat common illnesses or injuries.
Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT)
the NCA term for a professional who has completed a minimum of 2 years of specific training in an accredited clinical medical laboratory technician program and has passed a national certifying examination; also called medical laboratory technician (MLT)
