Scrum Master
A facilitator for the Scrum Team, responsible for ensuring that Scrum is understood and enacted.
Product Owner
The person responsible for maximizing the value of the product and managing the Product Backlog.
Development Team
A group of professionals responsible for delivering a potentially releasable Increment of 'Done' product at the end of each Sprint.
Sprint Backlog
The set of Product Backlog items selected for the Sprint, plus a plan for delivering the product Increment and achieving the Sprint Goal.
Definition of Done
A formal description of the state of the Increment when it meets the quality measures required for the product.
Sprint Review
An event at the end of the Sprint to inspect the Increment and adapt the Product Backlog if needed.
Daily Scrum
A 15-minute time-boxed event for the Development Team to synchronize their work and plan for the next 24 hours.
Increment
The sum of all the Product Backlog items completed during a Sprint and the value of the increments of all previous Sprints.
Self-organization
A Scrum Team's ability to manage their own work without being directed by outsiders.
Cross-functional Team
A Scrum Team that includes members with all the skills necessary to create a product Increment independently.
Time-box
A maximum duration for a Scrum event, which helps to promote focus and efficiency.
Empirical Process Control
A process that relies on the three pillars: transparency, inspection, and adaptation.
Sprint Retrospective
An event that allows the Scrum Team to reflect on the past Sprint and identify improvements for the next Sprint.
