How do homologues line up at the equator?
In pairs (side by side) in a process called synapsis
What are homologous chromosomes?
They are chromosomes that carry the same genetic information
How many homologous pairs do females have and how many do males have?
Females have 23 pairs while males have 22 pairs and one pair of non homologous sex chromosomes (XY)
What happens when the pairs separate?
Each daughter cell receives one of the homologous chromosomes in the pair
Why do cells become haploid?
They started off with 46 chromosomes and the and daughter cells ended up with 23 chromosomes
