Types of synovial joint
Hinge, Ball + Socket, Pivot (+ Candyfloid)
Movement at the shoulder
Flexion = Arm goes in from of the body
Extension = Arm goes behind the body
Horizontal abduction = Arm moves away from the body, but stays horizontal
Flexion
Angle at the joint decreases
Extension
Angle at the joint increases
Abduction
Joint moves away from the midline of the body
Adduction
Movement of a limb towards the midline of the body
Dorsiflexion
Movement of the foot upwards and the angle at the ankle decreases
Plantar flexion
Foot moves downwards and the angle at the ankle increases

A circular motion towards or away from the midline of the body

A combination of flexion, extension, abduction and adduction
