Following the end of slavery, segregation laws (such as the Jim Crow laws)  were implemented, wich lead to racial separation and unequal treatment.

Then there was the civil right movements

And the Civil Rights Act of 1964 outlawed these segregation and “Jim Crow laws” in businesses such as theaters, restaurants, and hotels.

Although racism is prohibited by law in the United States today, Racism is still a big issue in the USA.

  • for example. Just in April (this year) a black boy my age was shot after he accidentally rang the wrong doorbell

One of the most talked about issue is police brutality with the police misuse of power

For example a very known case of this brutality was George Floid, who was murderd by an police officer during an arrest.

a lot of the racism tody is more sutle, compared to in the past.

And today it is not a part of the society’s norm, wich means people speak up when somthing is wrong and there is often consequences for the racism and discrimination.

Is a international activist movement formed in the United States in 2013, with the intention to fighting racism with main focus on police brutality.

-And it had a big global effct for example the first BLM demonstraion in denmark was held in 2016.

There are a lot of diffrent approaches two stoping racism .

laws is one of the key ways to do it. (Prevents it from becoming part of society’s norm)

and social media also a great way with this movements (easy and quick way to spread a message)

So just to summen up, Racism in the USA is still a big issue and I personally think its important to focus on continued efforts to fighting it.

And I also tink its important to remeber that racism comes on many levelse it dosent have to be physical. I have myself experienced racism as I am certain evry person of color has or will in their life unfortunately.

  • And I think that makes it clear that it iss still a big problem especially in the USA
