Photosphere
The visible surface of the sun that we can see.
Sunspots
Magnetic poles on the surface of the sun that appear as dark spots due to being cooler than the surrounding areas.
Granules
Small, grain-like structures on the sun's surface that represent the top of convection cells, resembling a texture similar to Rice Krispies.
Convection cells
Large-scale movements of plasma on the sun's surface that last for ten to twenty minutes before being replaced by new cells.
Magnetic poles
The north and south poles on the sun that influence the formation of sunspots.
