At the start of the section walk along the path recording each building you pass
Record the number of building, name of occupant and function og building
Using the RICEPOTS + V key classify the building into appropriate category
Tick if the building is CEPO

Walk the length of the section and record each time you reach a residental building
At each building use the housing identification sheet to categorise the house
hypothesis 3
Measure the length of the section you are studying using the trundle wheel
Divide in two and using your trundle wheel measure half way along the section
Stand at this point for 15 mins
Use the digital tally counter record each time you are passed by a pedestrian. You could keep a paper copy as well to ensure accuracy.

This map was used to select an appropriate transect area for study within portadown. We looked at this map to identify a main road/roads that progress from the centre of portadown at St Market Church to the edge of the settlement at Lisnisky Roundabout.
We needed to make sure that the transect chosen covers a variety of land uses.
From the OS map we could identify different levels of urbanisation, land uses such as a school and hospital and areas of open space. This *helped us to choose a transect that would allow us to study our hypotheses and therefore fulfill our aim.*

This map was used to identify the boundaries of data collection areas. It shows individual buildings, different types of land use and adjacent streets. To aid the successful collections of data the transect needed to be separated into similar sized, accessible and identifiable areas.
This allowed for the accurate and achievable collection of data which enable us to fulfil our aim.
