it is made from dopamine converted by dopamine beta hydroxylase inside the docking vesicle.

mostly by reuptake and some by COMT degradation

tryptophan via tryptophan hydroxylase into 5-hysoxytryptophan and into serotonin via non-specific amino decarboxylase
