Fibroblasts
Connective tissue cells that secrete fibers and other components of the connective tissue matrix.
Collagen Fibers
Large structural proteins found in dense connective tissues that provide strength and support.
Chondrocytes
Cells in cartilage that produce the matrix and fibers of the tissue.
Lacunae
Spaces within cartilage where chondrocytes are located.
Osteocytes
Bone cells responsible for maintaining the bone matrix.
Vascular Tissue
Tissue with a good supply of blood vessels, crucial for nutrient transportation and waste removal.
Erythrocytes
Red blood cells responsible for transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide.
Platelets
Cell fragments in blood that play a crucial role in clotting.
Intercalated Discs
Specialized structures that connect cardiac muscle cells, allowing for synchronized contraction.
Skeletal Muscles
Voluntary striated muscles controlled consciously, found in limbs and trunk.
Smooth Muscles
Involuntary muscles that are non-striated and found in hollow organs.
Cardiac Muscles
Involuntary striated muscles that make up the heart.
