Medial longitudinal fasciculus
Bilateral connections with the extraocular nucleus (CNs 3, 4, and 6) and superior colliculus, influencing eye and head movements.
Vestibulospinal tracts
Both medial and lateral, to lower motor neurons that influence posture.
Vestibulocollic pathways
To the nucleus of the spinal accessory nerve, influencing head positions
Vestibulothalamocorical pathways
To the vestibulocerebellum, which controls the magnitude of muscle responses to vestibular information (including the gain of the vestibule-ocular reflexes)
Vestibuloreticular pathways
To the reticular formation, influencing the reticulospinal tracts and automatic centers for nausea and vomiting
Vestibular cortex output
Conscious awareness of head position and movement (Vestibulothalamocortical)
Extraocular nuclei output
Eye movements (Medial longitudinal fasciculus)
Superior colliculus accessory nerve output
Head movement (vestibulocollic)
Cerebral cortex. Spinal cord. Reticular formation output
Posture of head and body (Vestibulospinal)
Reticular formation output
Nausea and vomiting. Altered conscious (Vestibuloreticular)
