Urbanisation
The increase in the percentage of people living in towns and cities.
Suburbanisation
The outward growth of urban development which may engulf surrounding villages and towns into a larger urban area.
Counter-urbanisation
The movement of people and employment from major cities to smaller cities and towns, as well as rural areas.
Push factors
Conditions that drive people to leave an area, such as poverty or crime.
Pull factors
Conditions that attract people to a new area, such as better job opportunities and services.
Natural increase
The difference between the number of births and number of deaths in a population.
Agglomeration
The clustering of people and activities in a specific location, leading to urban development.
Urban regeneration
The revitalization of urban areas through investment and improvements.
Urban re-imagining
The process of redesigning urban areas to improve functionality and livability.
Economic development
