What does exercise intensity refer to?
The amount of energy expended when exercising.
What is Resting Heart Rate (RHR)?
The number of times your heart beats per minute while inactive.
What is the healthy resting heart rate for teens?
60 bpm to 100 bpm.
When is the best time to measure your resting heart rate?
First thing when you wake up or after resting for 5 minutes.
Where can you take your resting heart rate?
At the Radial Artery (wrist) or Carotid Artery (neck).
What is the formula to calculate Maximum Heart Rate (MHR)?
220 minus age.
What is the significance of Maximum Heart Rate (MHR)?
It is the greatest number of beats per minute your heart can reach during intense exercise.
What defines Target Heart Rate Range (THR)?
The desired heart rate during exercise to achieve workout goals.
What are the heart rate zones?
Heart Healthy Zone, Fitness Zone, Aerobic Zone, Anaerobic Zone, and Red Line.
What does the RPE scale measure?
The intensity of exercise on a scale from 0 to 10.
What is Muscular Strength?
The ability to exert a maximal amount of force for a short time.
Give an example of a test for Muscular Strength.
Push-up or curl-up test.
What is Muscular Endurance?
The ability to exert force repeatedly for an extended period.
Give an example of a test for Muscular Endurance.
Curl-up or push-up test.
What is Cardiorespiratory Endurance?
The ability of the heart and lungs to deliver oxygen during continuous physical activity.
Give an example of a test for Cardiorespiratory Endurance.
PACER test.
What does flexibility measure?
The range of motion of muscles and connective tissues at joints.
Give an example of a test for flexibility.
Sit and reach test.
What does Body Composition refer to?
The ratio of fat, muscle, and bone in the human body.
What is a subjective measure of exercise intensity?
Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE).
What is the highest number of beats per minute your heart can handle safely?
Maximum Heart Rate.
What does intensity measure in exercise?
How hard you feel your body is working.
Define strategies in the context of exercise.
A general plan to achieve long-term or overall goals.
What is Success Criteria in physical education?
Standards students use to assess the quality of their performance.
What is Engagement in physical education?
Measure of a student's interaction and effort toward activities.
What is the heart rate when the body is at rest and has not exerted itself?
Resting Heart Rate.
What does the Target Heart Rate indicate?
How fast your heart should be beating during exercise to meet goals.
What is the difference between aerobic and anaerobic zones?
Aerobic zone focuses on sustained exercise; anaerobic zone focuses on short bursts of high intensity.
What does the highest heart rate signify during exercise?
The maximum effort the heart can exert.
